Johannes (25), was murdered in a suspected ritual killing late October early November 1989 in the Mediorong area, between Pietersburg and Dendron, NTVL

The partly dismembered body of Johannes Hermanns Labuschagne, a trainee manager for a chain store in Pietersburg, was discovered by black schoolchildren in the dry bed of the Mogwadi River.

He was partially buried, with the upper half of his body above ground and his, throat slit. He was dressed in a tracksuit and T-shirt.
