Johannes Petrus Pretorius (1944 - 2002)

Brief overview:

Johannes (57) was shot dead after a gang of four men gained entry to the Pretorius's farm, in Rietfontein, on 27th September 2002.

The perpetrators tied up his wife, daughter-in-law, two grandchildren and the housekeeper, for four hours until Johannes arrived home. After shooting Johannes, they shot Petros Pretorius (32), who was taken to Alberton Hospital in a serious condition.

The killers made off with electrical appliances, jewellery and firearms. The getaway car was later found abandoned. The firearms and some stolen goods were recovered inside the car.

No one was arrested.
