About Petrus Pretorius
Petrus Pretorius (1970 - 2002)
Brief overview:
It is unclear as to whether the son of Johannes Pretorius (58), Petrus 'Petros' (32) died in hospital.
"Four men held hostage a Mpumalanga family for four hours yesterday afternoon before murdering one family member, critically wounding another, stealing household possessions and then making off in the family's vehicle. Olga Ballot, the spokesperson of the Mpumalanga police, said the four men gained access to the Pretorius family home on Rietfontein farm, Balfour at 2pm.
The men tied up Mrs Pretorius, her daughter-in-law, her two grandchildren and the housekeeper, holding them hostage until 6pm when Johannes Pretorius (58) arrived at the farm. The robbers then shot and killed Pretorius. The killers next fired on Petros Pretorius (32). He is now in a serious condition in an Alberton hospital.
