  • David Lichtenstein (32), and and his girlfriend, Petro Bezuidenhout (18), were arrested the following day in Carletonville. They were found in possession of Johannes's VW Citi Golf.

  • They were sentenced in the North West High Court sitting in Mahikeng on Thursday, said police. Lichtenstein was handed a life sentence, a further 15 years' for robbery with aggravating circumstances, said Colonel Sabata Mokgwabone. Bezuidenhout was sentenced to 12 years for the murder and eight years for robbery. Her sentences would run concurrently.
