About John Abercrombie, of Glassnaugh
A younger brother of the 1st baronet, John Abercromby, acquired Glassaugh House (Banffshire) in the mid 17th century, and Glassaugh remained the seat of this cadet branch of the family until 1781 when on the death of General James Abercromby (1706-81), his daughter carried it to the Duffs of Logie & Fetteresso (although they seem initially to have leased it back to Sir George Abercromby, 4th bt).
