John Adams Sr (1750-1822) was a Soldier of the Revolution in the SC militia. On 1790, 1800, 1810, and 1820 Edgefield County SC census with wife and children. John's Will, dated Oct 1822, is on file in SC Dept of Archives and History records online; beloved wife Sarah and nine children named in will, 4 sons, and 5 daughters.

Four sons named in 1822 will: John Adams, Jr., James Adams, William H. Adams, and Bartholomew S. Adams.

Five daughters named in 1822 will: (all married by 1822), Elizabeth Tomkins, Mary Stalsworth, Susannah Tomkins, Sarah Gibson, Rebecca Holloway.
