John Elmer Allen, Sr

John Elmer Allen, 84, 760 Cartersville Rd., Berea, died
Sunday, Dec. 21, at the Berea Hospital, following a long illness.

Elmer was a farmer and a Garrard County native. The son of the late Grandville Pierce and Lula Mae Conn Allen.

Elmer is survived by his wife, Annie Nelson Sowder Allen; two sons, John E. Allen, Jr., Paint Lick, and Elwood Allen,
Richmond; four daughters, Mrs. Nadine Turner and
Mrs. Martha Coy, Paint Lick, Mrs. Ruth McCracken Berea. and Mrs. Barbara Queener, Lafollette, Tenn.; 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Elmer was preseded in death by two sisters, Mrs. Ella Lake and Mrs. Susie Combs.

Funeral services will be conducted at Wray Funeral Home,
in Berea at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 23.
