Also spelled "Allin." Lived in Deerfield, Hampshire County, Massachusetts Bay Colony (Deerfield is now in Franklin County). Among the teamsters killed at Bloody Brook. The teamsters were hauling grain to storage, under the protection of Captain Thomas Lothrop and his soldiers.

In November of 1674, on the eve of King Philip's war, the Deerfield settlement was expanding. Three men were appointed to measure land for proprietors: "Robert Hinsdell," Joshua Carter, and "Jno Allen." All three perished together less than a year later.

"Allen, John, son of Samuel of Windsor, Conn., was of the same stock as Ethan Allen. He married in 1669, Mary, daughter of William Hannum, of Northampton, and was killed with Capt. Lothrop at Bloody Brook, Sept. 18, 1675. He left three children who settled in Connecticut, where descendants are numerous."

Notes

"He was one of the earliest settler in Deerfield, He was kiled by Indians in the Battle of Bloody Brook, Sept 18, 1675.

Buried with "Lathrops Co". (Epitah from Enfield St Conn Cemetery)

"His brother Nehemiah was great grandfather to Revolutionary War hero Ethan Allen; when I was a child, my mother made much of this relationship (though direct ancestor Joseph served in the Revolutionary War in his own right)."

"His sons John and Samuel settled in Enfield, CT."
