About John Baird
JOHN Baird was the son of Alexander Baird and Elizabeth (Jennings) Baird. He migrated with others of his family in the early 1800's to Wilson County, Tennessee. The name of his first wife, Nancy (Unknown) Baird is recorded in the family Bible of one of his sons. John second married (ca 1823) Sarah (Bostick) Baird, the widow of his brother, Wilson Baird, who had died ca 1819.
John and Sarah moved to Gibson County, Tennessee, ca 1836, bringing their blended families with them and then adding some of their own. Two of John's sons, Hardy and Wilson, married Sarah's two daughters, Nancy and Elizabeth.
John and Sarah were buried on their land and the one-acre plot was designated as the Baird Cemetery.
