About John Bass, Sr.

John Bass was baptized September 18,1630 at Saffron Walden, Co.Essex, England, the son of Samuel Bass and Ann Saville Bass. He died Sep 12 1716 at Braintree, Suffolk County, Province of Massachusetts Bay.

On February 3,1657 he married Ruth Alden [b.1634/5-1674] when he was about 24 years of age and she was 23. Ruth was the daughter of John Alden and Priscilla Mullins Alden, and a second generation Mayflower Descendant.

He married, second, Sept 21,1675, Anne, the widow of Samuel Sturtevant. He had no children by that marriage. The date of her death is not known.
