John Bedgood, Jr

John Bedgood Jr is a son of Old John Bedgood (Revolutionary Soldier) and his first wife, thought to be Mary Glover. John Jr was born around 1772 in NC and moved to Georgia around 1800.

Also around 1800, John JR married Mary. Her last name is unknown at this time. Mary and John Jr had at least nine children together and were married about 30 years.

Their children were:

• 1-Lydia Bedgood 1804-1860, married Allen White
• 2-Sallie Bedgood 1811-??
• 3-Unknown male, abt 1814 shown on census record
• 4-Unknown male, abt 1817 shown on census record
• 5-Guilford Bedgood 1820-1880, married Lucinda L ??
• 6-Mary Bedgood 1822-1880, married ?? Holder.
• 7-Nancy Bedgood 1825-
• 8-John Bedgood 1826-1890, married Mary Roach and moved to Alabama.
• 9-Martha Jane Bedgood 1829-1895, married Robert L Sumner.

In 1805 John Jr was listed as eligible to draw for land in the 1807 lottery, however he did not win land.

He and his family are shown on the 1820 and 1830 census. John Jr died in 1832 and is buried in the Bedgood Family Cemetery.
