  • John spent his early years clearing off the remains of various cedar bogs and working at the Plymouth saw mill. Later he became the proprietor of an inn. John lived near the southern end of Silver Lake, where his father, Stephen, also had lived. John was road surveyor at Plymouth in 1681, and constable in 1683/84 and 1691. He signed a will on 22 Nov 1728, and the will was probated on 5 Apr 1736. They were buried in the Old Cemetery At The Green, and a stone still stands today for each of them.
