<p>We read in J.W.Wins booklet that Richard's son John made a reel, much like a cotton reel- only about five feet, five inches in diameter, with a hole six inches in diameter from end to end. This wasand assist in removing stumps from the ground. A pole about eight feet long was put through the hole and let it into the ground and stayed back by ropes tied to stakes driven into the ground. John Burnett got his idea from the ships captain.</p> <p>John listed as a butcher on birth of daughter Emma.</p>
