He was a native of Cumberland County, Va, and a patriot of the Revolution in which he served two tours. He was at the battle of Guilford Courthouse, N.C. and at the surrender of Lord Cornwallis at Yorktown. He lived respected and died lamented by his numerous descendents and relatives.
