John, twin to Damaris and son of Jacob and Lydia (Miller) Cooke, was born at Plymouth (section now known as Kingston), MA on May 23, 1703. He married Phebe Crossman of Taunton, MA after December 19, 1730 (Kingston intentions). They resided at Kingston where they raised six children, all reaching adulthood. John died at Kingston on December 8, 1745. Kingston VR's states year of death as 1744 but it does not calculate to age at death of 42 years 6 months 15 days. The year of death on his gravestone states year of death as 1745 which calculates correctly.

He was buried at Old Burying Ground in Kingston, Massachusetts.[1]
