25 April 1627: Charter of Sale (almost indecipherable) by Sir William Cunynghame of Caprintoun, knight, whereby, in implement of a contract (of the date of these presents) he sold to John Cunynghame, lawful second son of James, Earl of Glencairne, and Margaret Knox, his spouse, in liferent, and to John Cunynghame, their lawful eldest son, his heirs and assignees whomsoever, in fee, the £10 land of old extent of Cambuskeith, lying on the north side of the water of Irving, with tower, manor-place, mills etc. within the bailliary of Cunynghame and sheriffdom of Air: To be held a me for payment to the king, as prince and steward of Scotland, of £10 Scots and 13 shillings and 4 pence of augmentation in name of feufarm, and doubling the feu-farm on the entry of heirs and assignees: With precept of sasine. [17th Century] Bond by Alexander Cunynghame, brother germane to Sir David Cunynghame of Robertland, knight, by which said Alexander stands security for Anna Cunynghame, one of the three sisters and heirs portioners of umquhile John Cunynghame of Cambuskeith, and Mr. Robert Wallace, her future husband, son lawful of Mr. Michael Wallace, minister at Kilmarnock, in all sums of money, debts, and obligations of said Anna and Robert. 6 May 1645: Certified Copy Retour of Inquest made in a court of the bailiary of Cunynghame held in the tolbooth of the burgh of Irwing on 6 May 1645 by Thomas Neving of Monkridding and Mr. John Gervane of Dalgain (?), depute bailies of the said bailiary, finding that Ann Cunynghame was one of the three lawful and nearest heirs of John Cunynghame of Cambuskeith, her brother in the £10 land of old extent of Cambuskeith, lying on the north side of the Water of Irwing as the same now runs, with tower, manor-place, mill etc. within the bailiary of Cunynghame and sheriffdom of Air: which lands are held of the prince and steward of Scotland in feu-farm for payment of £10 Scots and 13/4 in augmentation of rental (which sums are to be doubled in the first year of the entry of heirs of the said John) and are in the hands of the liferentrix Margaret Knox, mother of the said John Cunynghame, since his decease in January 1637 National Records of Scotland, Sir William Fraser Charters, reference GD86/578

30 July 1664: Precept (faint) from the Chancery of King Charles I. addressed to the sheriff and his bailies of Air, for infefting the said David Cunynghame as nearest and lawful heir of Margaret Cunynghame, his mother, in one-third part of the £10 land of Cambuskeith described in the preceding writ; and commanding them to take security for the sum of £10:13:6 Scots due in name of feu-farm and augmentation for said lands which were in the hands of the superior for 3 years (viz. £3:11:1½ for feu-farm and augmentation and £7: 2: 3 for a double thereof.)
