JOHN3 DINSMORE (Richard2, Salathiel1), baptized at Oyster River {Dover} NH say 1718-20; d at Pembroke ME c 1800; believed to be son of Richard2 (Salathiel1) and Mary(--) Dinsmore [because the given name "Clement" appears in many of the families of descendants of John, and that name appeared in the family of Richard2, but not in families of his brothers]; served under William Pepperell in siege & capture of Louisburg [NS] from the French in 1745; moved from New Hampshire to Milbridge in 1759(?) as one of the first group of settlers, & built a mill there at "Mill River"; in 1773 he followed his son-in-law Hatevils Leighton Jr to Pembroke, where he established a farm [not listed as head-of-household in 1790 or 1800 Censuses in ME]; received settler's lot #29 in Township #5 {Milbridge} which he had assigned to son Clement by 1794 [Wash Co Deed 1:387]; min NH [no record found] 174? (Unknown) TIBBETTS; at least 7 children [only John, Clement, & Elijah appear in Narraguagus records, & only John Jr & Nathaniel were heads of household in 1790 Census]

John Hall's Co. in Col. Benjamin Foster's Lincoln County Regt in Rev War {served 7 Aug-7 Sept 1 779}; 1790 Census shows household of 3 males over 16, one under 16, & 6 females [this may have included his father & perhaps mother or some of his siblings as well as his own immediate family]; m 17?? LYDIA --, b 17??, living at Lubec 1811 +; at least 2 children-- Abigails [b at Harrington [TR] 8 April 1791, d 18 Dec 1857/58, mat Lubec bef 1816 Vinsons Strout (Strout #34)] & Clement.

CLEMENT, b say 17 48; d 1801 +; perhaps was the person by this name living alone at Lubec { 1811}; sold his father's settlers lot #29 in Twp.#5 {Milbridge} to nephew Johns Dinsmore 3rd in 1792; also sold land at Pembroke to brother-in-law Hatevil Leighton Jr in 1790, 1792, & 1801 [Washington Co Deeds 2:435, 1 :240, & 3: 132]; no further record.
  4. MARTHA "Patty", bat Dover NH 27 July 1751; d 1824+; m 1771 Hatevils Leighton Jr (1750-1819), lived at Pembroke {see Leighton # 1. viii}.
  5. ELIJAH, b 175?; d 1794+; perhaps was living in brother John's household in 1790 Census]; received settlers lot #97 in Twp.#5 {Milbridge} in 1794; no further record.
  6. SAMUEL, b 17??; d 1811 +; lived at Lubec {1811 }, m LUCY SMITH; at least 2 sons-- Williams [bat Plt.#14 on 15 Feb 1805] & Amoss [bat Eastport 26 July 1809, d 1840+, mat Lubec 1829 {Eastport Sentinel of 20 June 1829} Betsy Eldridge of Lubec].
  7. Solomon [used surname "Denbo"], b cl 759; d at Lubec [TR] 20 July 1860 ae. 101 [if his age is correct, he was too old to be a grandson, so must be a son of John3 ]; lived at Lubec { 1811}, [1820]; m (2nd?) (int. at Lubec 6 April 1812) Betsey Smith of Twp.#9; at least 6 daus-- Sarahs, Mary, Annie, Lydia, Rhoda, & Eliza Ann.
