Profile photo-Huts for patients-Peel Island, Lazaret. Patients were isolated, but were allowed adult visitors. Children under 14 were considered susceptible to Hansen's Disease (Leprosy), and therefore only allowed to wave from the boat. This would have been very difficult if a parent was incarcerated there. The island was a beautiful place, but the isolation of the inmates was very sad.John was buried in the Lazaret Cemetery.
