EBLEN, JOHN - Obituary
Died at his residence in Roane county, on Tuesday the 3rd of June, after an illness of several months of a pulmonary nature, Mr. John EBLEN, (Sr.), aged about sixty-nine years. He emigrated from Virginia to this state about twenty six years since, and settled himself in Roane County where he continued until his death. He was a charitable and useful citizen. He has left a wife and large family of children, together with numerous other relatives and friends, to lament his death. The deceased appeared to be perfectly resigned to the will of providence, and gave his friends every reason to believe in his acceptance with Christ. The Knoxville Enquirer, Knoxville, Wednesday, 2 Jul 1828, Vol. I, No. 18.
