Research Notes
Many variants of the family name are encountered: Epperson, Eperson, Eppeson, Epecen, Apperson.

Note from John Epperson, 5 Jun 2014: The Eppersons were originally from France by way of Holland and Wales. England. When they arrived in the 'New World' They must have had atrocious accents and/ or the scribes of the time didn't hear so good. Since many people didn't read or write, the name somehow got changed from Epperson to Apperson (and some scribes also left out the English double 'P').
