John Fleming

JOHN FLEMING

is the son of John Fleming of Cardarroch. He was born before 29 April 1665, the date upon which his baptism was registered at Cadder in Lanarkshire, Scotland. His mother's name is not mentioned in his baptismal Record but he seems likely to be the son of Elizabeth Crawford, who died in September 1672. His baptismal record reads as follows: "John laull sone to John ffleming of Cardarioch Witnesses Jo: Donaldsone Wm: Maxwell" [Registrar General for Scotland, H. M. New Register House, Edinburgh, Cadder Baptisms, 1662-1744, OPR.626/1].
