John was the son of Peter and Jane Glasscock. He married Mary Hendren bef. 1762. They had 13 children. John, Anna, Lydia, William, Thomas, Peter, Downing, Uriel, Asa, Gregory, Nancy, Jane and Phoebe.

tailor knew Goose creek area of Faquier co. Virginia by 1762 and settled there in 1765. In 1813 he moved to Frederick Co., Va where he made deposition in 1813 about his father's land on Goose creek. In 1816 he moved with several of his chn. to Adams Co., Ohi where her wrote his will June 22, 1817 at the age of 80 callin himself John Glascock Snr. He d' in 1822. His will left land inKY. to be divided among his chn. Over 50 yrs. later there was a lawsuit over this Ky. land, during which depositions were taken in Mo. which give the names of his chn. and grandchildren.
