John Jr did not travel to Australia with his parents in 1799, but remained in England with his grandparents and emigrated in 1827 when he already had established his own family. John and Mary arrived in Australia 4 August 1827 on the Ship "Elizabeth" (came free).

Kenthurst: Kangaroo Press, 1985 Note: John arrived in the colony on the ship 'Elizabeth' with wife Mary and family and settled on the Grono holdings at Maraylya, where the family tradition of boat building long survived.
