John Gudknecht

John Gudknecht was the son of Christian Henry Gudknecht and Elizabeth Acheson. He was married first to Annie Clothier with whom he had three children: Harry, John ( who was given the nickname Shorty) and Sarah. His second marriage was to Mary Amanda Tomlinson. He made his living driving carriages through the streets of downtown Philadelphia. After living in Philadelphia his entire life, he inexplicably moved with wife Mary Amanda to Elmer in 1905 where he died of tuberculosis two years later.
