About John Milton Hartman
The Gettysburg Times October 31, 1932
John Milton Hartman, 52, of Cashtown, fruit grower and lumberman and son of the late John and Mrs. Isabelle Rice Hartman, died Saturday afternoon at 2:30 at his home in Cashtown from a heart condition. HE had been suffering from a heart ailment for some time, but his condition became serious about three weeks ago. He was born and live the greater part of his life in Franklin township, Adams county. He was engaged in the butchering business here some years ago, was in the lumbering business in Franklin county and operated a large fruit orchard near Fairfield. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Isabelle Hartman, who resides on Baltimore street, Gettysburg; his wife, Mrs. Mayme Biesecker Hartman, and the following children; Martha Hartman, a teacher in the Lancaster schools; Lee Hartman, a student at West Chester state teachers’ college, and Mary,, a senior in Gettysburg high school. The following brothers and sisters also survive; Mrs. John Walter; Baltimore Street; Mrs. George Smick, East Lincoln Avenue; C. B. Hartman, taxi driver of Gettysburg; H. A. Hartman, of Arendtsville; William Hartman, of near Brysonia, and David Hartman, of Franklin township. Funeral services Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 from the home, wit the Rev. G.
