He mentions his brother William Headen, sister Susannah widow of William Dark, and sister Sarah wife of John Harris. His wife Phebe apparently left him a few years before and now he wants her to come back to him. If she will he will give her one third of his estate and 10 lbs. money. He forgives her for leaving him. He will not acknowledge her son Thomas Jones that she had by Brantley Jones while she was separated from him. Phebe said the baby Thomas was his but he denied it. John promises to not be mean to her anymore if she will only come back to him. She apparently came back, because a year are so later she is trying to get the courts to recognize Thomas as a Headen. He does not mention any of the children that were in the census records. His WILL, was probated at the November term of court in 1805.
