About John Hearne, Convict "Admiral Gambier" 1808

John Hearne (Hern/Hearn) was convicted of stealing a pig at the Leicester Assizes and sentenced to transportation to NSW for 7 years. He left Portsmouth on 2 July, 1808 and arrived in Sydney on the Admiral Gambier on 20 Dec, 1808. He received his Certificate of Freedom on 5 Apr,1814 No. 5/1320
