Thomas Horton of Charlestown and Thomas Horton of Springfield have been combined into one may in many publications. The fact that they were two families is proved when Mary (surname unknown) m. ca 1641 Robert Ashley of Springfield. Pynchon court records mention widow Horton with babe in arms marrying Robert Ashley. Mary signed a prenuptial agreement with Robert Ashley for him to educate her son two sons Jeremiah & John. [No son Thomas]
