The Gravestone (removed during renovation of Didsbury Church, Heaton Norris, Lancashire) was transcribed by Ellen Hudson (b. 1813) as follows:
"This is a copy from the Old Grave Stones in Didsbury Church Yard belonging to the Hudson family of Top o' th' Bank. This is the Grave Stone on your right hand when you stand at the foot of the Graves. -- In this Grave lie the following named Persons -- Alice Hudson Daughter of John and Ann Hudson of the Top o' th' Bank. Mary Hudson of the Top o' th' Bank. Ann Hudson the eldest Daughter of Charles George Hudson and Elizabeth his Wife. Died 27th Sep 1770 Aged 5 years. Thomas Hudson their eldest Son Died 23rd Dec 1779 Aged 11 years. Sophia Ann Hudson their 7th Youngest Daughter Aged 25 years. Edward Hudson Esquire their youngest Son Barrister at Law of the Middle Temple London late of Heaton Norris. Died 19th Jan 1841 Aged 66 years. Thomas Hudson Solicitor of London the eldest Son of John & Ann Hudson of the Top o' th' Bank was Buried at Hornsey in Middlesex. Also his Brother Charles George Hudson Solicitor of Staple Inn London. Also John Hudson 2nd Son of Charles George Hudson & Elizabeth his wife died in London Aged 2 Years 1774.
