A diary written by Felton Matthew, a surveyor travelling on the same ship, tells of life on board during the near 4 month voyage.

Article in Armidale Express 9 May 1857 reported on the untimely death of 'Curly' and asks "why a body bearing the impression of God's image upon its brow, should be left unprotected for a whole night, in a Bush, in a solitude unbroken save by the howl of the native dog and the croak of the disgusting crow"

Baptised 29 Jul 1810 ... same as Ann Shufflebottom ...
