From The Jenny Book. John Jenny of Plymouth and his Descendants Author: Judith Jenney Gurney Publication: Gateway Press Inc., Baltimore, 1988 p. 40

The Jenny Book says the first wife of John Jenney was Margaret Hicks, daughter of Samuel and Lydia (Doane) Hicks, and says she died between 1689 and 1699. Their daughter Mehitable Jenney lived with Judge Thomas Leonard for a time before her marriage. Judge Leonard's wife Mary (Watson) was the daughter of George and Phoebe (Hicks) Watson; Phebe Hicks was the sister of Margaret's father Samuel Hicks. The fact that Mehitable lived with Judge Leonard is certainly not proof that John Jenney's first wife was Margaret Hicks. But taken with the fact that a grandson was named Hix Jenney, it certainly becomes circumstantial evidence that Jenney's first wife was a Hicks, and that Gurney's identification is correct.
