About John Kitchen

John KITCHEN was born in 1652 in Salem, Essex co., MA and baptized as ?Kitchin, John? in Salem, Essex co., MA on 21d:1m:1652

Very little is known of Henry's father John at all including when and where he died, probably in Hunterdon, New Jersey and there is no known record of his wife's name. He is sourced as the father Henry from Amwell New Jersey 1690 , the Kitchen family of Salem the Essex Institute edition and in a Savage New England Historical Register. Unfortunately there is no mention of Mrs Kitchen , Henry's mother. It appears that John may have struck out on his own in moving to Hunterdon as many of his siblings stayed in Salem and raised their families and died there. While others moved to Delaware and New Hampshire. The death date of John, Henry's father is unknown .There was a large settlement of Quakers in Amwell, Hunterdon New Jersey. This John Kitchen's birth is verified per christening record in First Church of Quakers records Salem, Massachusetts. Has left Salem by 1675 when his father died. . This John is not listed in the book the History of Salem however the book was written years after the Kitchen family was deceased and John having left the area for Hunterdon was omitted. He is however sourced in the Savage New England Historical Register. as their child. Genealogy done by Don C Wood of Martinsburg West Virginia and other info provided by Meade Kitchen of LaJolla, California. now deceased.
