John Lewis was born on 1 October 1708 in Dartmouth, Bristol, Massachusetts Bay Colony, son of John Lewis (~1660–1712) and Elizabeth Doty (~1680– ). [1]

His siblings were:

Susanna Lewis (abt. 25 February 1709 – aft. 1 September 1774)
John (27) married Sarah Hodsdon (19) (born before 19 April 1716 in Berwick, York, Massachusetts Bay Colony; daughter of Joseph Hodsdon and Margaret (Goodwin) Hodsdon) about 1736 in Berwick, York. Their known children were:

John Lewis (bef. 5 July 1741 – 16 May 1792)
Sarah Lewis (15 August 1746 – 0 August 1843)
John died before 1762, aged 53.
