Biography

John "Jockie" Lowe was born in 1784 in Harbour Island, Bahamas to Gideon Lowe, Jr.<ref>Paternal relationship is confirmed by a 35 out of 37 Y-DNA marker match between this Family Tree DNA yDNA test for Donald Lowe and this Family Tree DNA yDNA test of his paternal line cousin Anonymous Lowe.</ref> and Nancy 'Ann'Saunders.

He married Mary Ann "Polly" Curry about 1804.
Paternal relationship is confirmed by a 35 out of 37 Y-DNA marker match between this Family Tree DNA yDNA test for Donald Lowe and this Family Tree DNA yDNA test of his paternal line cousin Anonymous Lowe. <ref>Entered by Ann Carmel, Wednesday,September 4, 2013.</ref> The Lowe family moved to Key West in 1844. He passed away there in 1858 and is buried in the City Cemetery.
