In 1900, when John was thirty-nine years old, the family moved to Deer township, where John had filed a homestead claim a year earlier. The family remained on this homestead for seventy years.

Christine had two sons, Clifford and Conrad; Fred; Richard, who had two daughters, Nadine and Lila; Lottie whose two sons are Rudolph and Ralph; Edd (who served in France in World War I); and Robert whose one daughter and four sons are Mabel, Morris, Willard, Floyd and James.

The farm still stands there just south of Greenbush and James, Floyd and Morris Lundquist was just on the farm telling stories last weekend (Aug 1, 2009) during our family reunion. Permission is needed to go on the land and the home is unsafe to walk into. The 50 ft well that was dug by hand has now caved in.

Karen, I believe you are referring to Robert Lundquist's farm just outside of Strathcona.

Per Victor Ames 9/08/2009:

The log house that John Lundquist built around 1900 just east of Strathcona, MN is still standing. It is in rough shape, but he built it with some very solid 6" logs. I know my great Uncle Edward lived there until the 1970's until he died. It has been vacant ever since.

Johan Andersson was considered to be a person from the other side of the tracks from Kerstin's parent's perspective. So, until they had their first three children, they were not allowed to marry. This accounts for Magnus being listed as part of the family during emigration from Sweden as a "son born out of wedlock". Source: DeLyle Courtney Ames
