About John Mackworth, of Mackworth
1. Thomas Mackworth of Mackworth, in Derbyshire, Esq. who served in parliament for the county of Derby in 3 and 4 Henry VI. and marrying Alice,* sister and heir to Sir John de Basings, who died without issue in 1446, became possessed of the towns and manors of Normanton, Empingham, and Hardwick, in Rutlandshire, which first place from thenceforth became their capital mansion. He was succeeded by
2. Henry, his son and heir, who fixing in the county of Rutland, was sheriff thereof in 18 Edw. IV. and
(John, his son and heir, dying during his life) was succeeded by his grandson
