John was born in Charlestown, Massachusetts Bay Colony abt. 1671 to Robert Mansur, the first Mansur immigrant from England to settle in New England, and Mrs. Elizabeth Brooks Mansur. His last name is spelled Monsir on his 1st marriage record. Also commonly shown as Manser.
His first wife was Mary Mirick, married Apr. 24, 1695, Boston. She died without issue bef. 1701, probably in Charlestown. Her grave has not been found.
John's second wife was Elizabeth Henshaw, b. Jul. 30, 1678, Woburn, Mass. and d. Jun. 22, 1741 in Andover as "Elisabeth Ballard". They were married on June 3, 1701 in Woburn and had two children:
- Elizabeth Mansur, b. Jan. 28, 1703, Charlestown
- John Mansur, b. Nov. 10, 1705, Charlestown.
Wife Elizabeth married 2nd Uriah Ballard (1683 - aft. 1765) in Andover on Oct. 18, 1712.
Although a record of John's death has not been found, it is assumed to have been before 1712 in Charlestown. It is likely he was buried there.
