He was the Ruling Elder of his church. John was mentioned in his Grandfather John Black's will ... his inheritance was one cow. John Black was born about 1723 in Letterkenny, Donegal, Ulster, Northern Ireland and died before 28 Sept 1790 in Tyrone, Cumberland Co., PA. On 5 Aug 1755 in Trinity Parish, Oxford, Chester Co., PA., John Black married Abigail Lowry (1725-1795 approximate dates). John and Abigail Black were the parents of 11 children... Abigail was the eldest. About 1769 she married Private Henry McCracken, son of Indian Trader John McCracken and his wife Mary who in 1757 lived near Marion, Guildford Twp., Cumberland Co., PA.
