Biographical Summary
John Melvill, born 1595, fourth son of James M. min. of Kilrenny ; M.A. (St Andrews, 26th July 1613) ; licen. by Presb. of Dalkeith 1616 ; adm. in March 1617 ; died between 25th June and 25th Oct. 1638. He marr. in 1624, Janet Kellie, who survived him, and had issue —
- James, one of the singing boys of the Chapel Royal of Holyrood (Exchequer Papers) ;
- Alexander, bapt. 13th Sept. 1631.
