Joannis "John" Mersdorf, Sr his first wife Frederica and their oldest son Charles were all born in Prussia the area is now part of Germany. They married on October 25, 1853 in Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany

The little family immigrated to the United States before 1856, settling in the Buffalo, NY Area.

After Frederica death in 1887 Joannis remarried in 1888 Bertha A. Meyer Mersdorf and they had two more children

Currently we are not sure how John died, when or where he now rests. We think it was some time between 1919 1920 We all pray that someday we'll know the rest of her story.
