About John Baptiste Montgomery

Peter along with his 2 minor sons John Baptiste & Francis were naturalized Oct 20, 1727 https://kentuckykindredgenealogy.com/2015/08/22/1792-marriage-willi...

Born in France and died near Bryantown, Charles County, MD. His land was on the east side of Zakiah Swamp in the area, apparently opposite, Jordan/Jorden Swamp. The land was Pye's Hardshift, part of Jordan, and north of Bryantown. His parents were Peter Montgomery and his first wife, possibly named Catherine. Unsure if he was buried in this cemetery but he lived in the area of this active mission which might have been called St. Ignatius and later renamed to St. Peter's by Baltimore Bishop John Carroll. There is a chance he was buried on the land in a graveyard that is no longer marked. Tomb is non-extant and death date listed is date of inventory evaluation; he probably died in April, 1771.

His wife, Henrietta Jenkins, apparent daughter of Ignatius Jenkins and Henrietta Queen, was born in Charles County, MD and as a widow, went to the Cartwright's Creek Settlement of then Nelson County, KY (at statehood it became Washington County).
