About John Morrow
John Morrow was a Presbyterian minister in Toronto.
John Morrow attended McGill (where he distinguished himself in sports, especially running) and graduated from there as a Presbyterian minister; he was a minister first in Hespeler, Ont., and later at St. Mark’s Presbyterian in Toronto, which was later sold. Dale Presbyterian Church was built at the corner of Bellwoods Ave. and Queen St. in Toronto; while the church was being finished John vowed not to cut his hair, and Chris Humphrey saw a photo of him riding a bike with his long hair flying out behind. He and his wife, Edith Ives, lived at one point near Humber Bay in Toronto. He served as Chaplain with the Sportsman’s Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Forces in England and France in WW I. Soon after he returned to Canada his health failed. While in California to recover, he died.
