John J. Mulligan, 76, a lifelong resident of the Town of Jackson, died Tuesday morning in the Mary McClellan Hospital, following a lingering illness. He was the son of the late James and Mary O'Donnell Mulligan, and had operated a farm on the Cambridge-Greenwich road for more than 50 years.
Mr. Mulligan was a life member of St. Patrick's Church and of its Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Houlihan; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Allen of Greenwich; a son, John J. Mulligan, Jr.; a granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. William Wolfrum of North Hoosick; a brother, Edward Mulligan of Cambridge, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday morning at 8:45 from his late residence, and thence to St. Patrick's Church where a requiem Mass will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
Friends may call at the family home at anytime today.
