About John Narloch
http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=105345961
Little is known of Jan's early years, though his marriage record provides a lot of information. He was born in Osowo, Konitz, West Prussia, which was formerly part of Poland. He was the son of Jozef Narloch and Victoria Kaldunska. He had at least 2 younger siblings. Catholic Church records of Karsinin state that he was married on Feb. 21, 1881 to Franciszka Podjaska. The parents of the couple are named in the record. He signed his name "Johann Narloch." The couple was born and lived in Osowo. Nine months after their wedding, their first child was born. Altogether, they had 13 children, though at least 7 of them died in childhood. In 1888, the couple and their young son Vincent moved to Chicago, Illinois, in the USA, where they lived for the rest of their lives. John's sister, Marianna, and her husband, Joseph Kozlowski, had moved there the year before. John and Franciszka's daughter Theofila was born within months of their arrival. They were members of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church for many years, and the family had many sacraments performed there. Franciszka died at age 44, having borne children until just a few years before her death. Her youngest child of the 6 who survived her had just turned 7. Nine months later, John married Marianne Przepiorka (Pieporka), a 50-year-old widow from the same region of Poland, who had 4 children from her previous marriage. John's eldest son, Vincent, was married 6 weeks later. John died at the age of 64, according to cemetery records, which state that his remains are in a vault, but the exact location in the cemetery is not known. He died of chronic nephritis and organic heart disease which lasted for about 5 months. His wife, Mary, survived him.
