GEDCOM Note
[Master File.ftw]
"Since his father and grandfather Perry had arrived in the New World only three years before his birth, this young John may be thought of as the first American Perry in his line. Very little is known about this man who was the ancestor of a large branch of the family, but he doubtless lived out his life in Watertown, and vicinity, probably as a farmer; whether he engaged in the family trade of cloth weaving and tailoring is not known. ...
The facts of the life of John Perry (IV) are to be found mostly in various church and town records since no connected account has so far been found. The following excerpts are evidence that Mr. Perry's second wife was Mercy Swan, contrary to the statements of earlier genealogists that Sarah Price was his only wife, and that he had land at Cambridge Rocks....."
