A Patriot of the American Revolution for GEORGIA (SOLDIER). DAR Ancestor # A129984

John moved from NC to Ga about 1790, granted 200 acres of Land In Effingham Co, Ga 12 Feb 1791. In 1796 he was cut into Bulloch Co and in1797-98 moved to Montgomery Co. Name appears on 1798 tax digets. Later was cut into Telfair Co when it was created. 1820 Georgia Land Lottery shows them residing in the 6th land district of Appling Co (Now Coffee & Atkinson Co's) Spent the last years with his children, died about 1840-45 in Lower Telfair Co (Now Coffee Co) Census Ref: 1790 Cumberland Co NC, 1800 Montgomery Co, 1820 Telfair Co. RW Pension Abstracts vol III White - NC notes John Peterson, 3 May 1750 had a brother Nathan living in Sampson Co., John collected pension in 1833.

The surname of John's second wife, Elizabeth, is unknown. Their children are: Eliza(b. 1820); Henry "Hal" (b. 1821); and Alfred Peterson (b. 1827).
