John, of 1660, had a son born in 1686, whom he named JOHN and who married SARAH CARVER of Philadelphia in 1707. The Abington monthly meeting Record recorded her birth thus - "Sarah Carver, ye daughter of Willym and Jane Carver, born ye 2th of ye 10th month, 1690. " Their wedding, uniting two of the City's most prominent families, was the social event of the season."
John and Sarah very shortly removed to Baltimore, where their first son, William, was born in [1708??] Jacob Rush, one of the Rush family Revolutionary Veterans, and a grandson of William and Elizabeth Lewis Rush, was a member of the Skinner-Rush who came to Turkeyfoot, Somerset County, Pa. about 1773. He became a farmer and at one time owned the greater part of Turkeyfoot Township? He gave each of his children a farm - sometimes two - although according to published records of former Rush Family Histories, he had to borrow clothes for his first wedding.
