About John Bernard Schleeper, Sr.
The son of Mathias Schleeper and Anna "Mary" Kiel, John married Mary A. Pohlmann on 28 Nov 1912 in Calhoun County, Illinois. They were the parents of 3 children, but none of them ever married.
At the time of his death at Alton Memorial Hospital, John was 90 years, 4 months and 12 days old. He was survived by 1 daughter, Dorothy Schleeper; and 1 son, Hubert Schleeper. Both children lived at home with John in rural Hardin in Calhoun County.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; and an infant son, John Schleeper.
Visitation was held on 21 Apr 1974 at Hanks Funeral Home in Brussels, Illinois. A funeral Mass was conducted at 9:30 a.m. the following morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Meppen, Illinois.
John was buried next to his wife, Mary, who passed away in 1966.
