  • Sharp Family History, page 11, states:  John settled 1250 acres of land in Evesham Twp., which were located next to Thomas Ballinger.  John was frequently mentioned in public business affairs.   He arrived in America on the ship "Samuel" which landed at Burlington, New Jersey on the 4th or 5th of September, 1682.

  1. 17 Jun 1688 in Burlington, Burlington Co, NJ to Elizabeth Paine (1665-1705) under the care of the Burlington Quaker Monthly Meeting (MM), Burlington County, New Jersey. Elizabeth was the daughter of John Paine, one of the signers of West Jersey's constitution.
  2. 11 Apr 1707 in Elizabeth Green (1662-bef 1719)
  3. about Dec 1719 in Haddonfield MM, Camden Co, NJ to Jane CURTIS, daughter of Thomas and Jane CURTIS, and wife of Samuel OGBORNE. Jane's second marriage was to John HAMPTON of Freehold. Jane's third marriage was to Nathanial FITZ-RANDOLPH of Woodbridge, NJ. Jane's fourth marriage was to John SHARP of Gloucester whom she also outlived.

He married Hannah Austin in Burlington Co, NJ, 05 May 1735. Hannah was born about 1710. Hannah was the daughter of Francis Austin and Mary Borton. Hannah died 25 Dec 1767 at 57 years of age.

  3. 10 iii. John Sharp was born 08 Dec 1693.
  4. 11 iv. Thomas Sharp was born 23 Aug 1698. He married Elizabeth Smith in Haddonfield MM, Camden Co, NJ, about Dec 1724. Elizabeth was born about 1698.
  5. 12 v. Hannah Sharp was born 01 Dec 1700. Hannah died after 1727. She married Thomas Adams in Haddonfield MM, Camden Co, NJ, Dec 1720. Thomas was born 12 Dec 1698.
  6. 13 vi. Samuel Sharp was born 05 Sep 1702. Samuel died 31 Dec 1736 at 34 years of age. He married twice. He married Elizabeth Haines in Burlington MM, Burlington Co, NJ, 03 Jan 1725/26. Elizabeth was born in Northhampton, New Jersey (?) 1698. Elizabeth was the daughter of Thomas Haines and Elizabeth Austin. Elizabeth died before 1730. He married Mary Tomlinson in Haddonfield MM, Camden Co, NJ, abt May 1730. Mary was born about 1702.
  7. 14 vii. Sarah Sharp was born 03 Jun 1705. She married Peter Phillips in Haddonfield MM, Camden Co, NJ, 11 Sep 1729. Peter was born about 1705.
