About John Amberson Stover
John A. Stover, 75, of 5241 W. 78th St., died Tuesday [October 3, 1978] at St. Francis Medical Center, Tulsa, [Oklahoma] after a lengthy illness. He was born April 14, 1903 in Scio, Ohio.
During World War 2, he worked in the shipyards in California, and moved back to Oklahoma 30 years ago. He retired in 1970 as a mechanic with Douglas Aircraft.
Survivors are his wife, Dorothy of the home; one son, Kim Stover of Tulsa; a daughter, Mrs. Jim (Pam) Hopkins of Decatur, Ill.; one grandson; and two sisters: Mrs. Alma Washburn of Enid, [Oklahoma], and Mrs. Mary Gardner of Drumright, [Oklahoma].
Funeral services will be at 2 pm Thursday in Owen Funeral Chapel with Rev. Jim Hopkins officiating. The family will headquarter at the Stover home northeast of Sapulpa. In lieu of other remembrances, the family suggests donations to the American Cancer Society.
